1. instead of being a lecture course, we discuss, work on assignments/strategies and collaborate on how the course evolves
2. this is not an english class-- reading, writing and critical thinking are part of all college courses!
3. because this is a mandatory pass or fail class, i'm obliged to tell you the minimum passing grade. however, you should strive for an A!
4. names in the syllabus, e.g., 'Kinzer' refers to a course text.
5. you need to buy the book(Kinzer) and the hard copy readings
6. the blank class sessions are to allow us to catch up and add relevant topics as we go.
7. late homework receives full credit unless it is more than 4 weeks late.
8. homework doesn't need to be graded because its value show up in class participation and the quality of formal tasks.
